ABOUT US
Brinkley Municipal Waterworks is a municipality owned and operated water system serving the citizens of Brinkley, Arkansas. It was purchased from General Water Works of Pine Bluff in 1950. Highway 70 Southwest and Highway 238 East was added to the Brinkley system in 1981. In addition, Brinkley Municipal Waterworks wholesales water to the City of Wheatley, East Monroe County Water Users Association and United Water Association.
Our goal is to provide a safe and dependable supply of drinking water. Two wells supply water from the Quaternary Aquifer pumping approximately 1,600 gallons per minute with pumping capacity of one million gallons per day. Our water treatment plant is located at 35943 Highway 17 North and requires an Arkansas Grade III Water Treatment and a Grade III Distribution licensed operator.
Brinkley Municipal Waterworks has two 500,000 gallon overhead storage tanks; one located on Highway 17 North and another located on South Grand Street. East Monroe County Water Users Association has one 150,000 gallon overhead storage tank located on Highway 49 South near Henderson’s Corner and United Water Users Association has one 150,000 gallon overhead storage tank located on Highway 49 North in Hunter.
The wastewater treatment plant is located on Albert Rusher Drive and requires an Arkansas Class III licensed operator. It is designed to process 700,000 gallons of wastewater per day.
